The distance learning programme “Master (Blended Learning of Evaluation (MABLE)” is accredited to award the academic degree Master of Arts (M.A.). The English-​language Master's programme has a standard period of study of four semesters (part-​time).

Objective and Target Group

Evaluation is a standard tool used for programme- and project management in a broad variety of fields, particularly in development cooperation. Methods of empirical social research are used to gather the required information on programme performance and impacts and make assessments based on verifiable criteria for decision making on measures to enhance social betterment.
The distance learning programme is aimed at professionals and executives in the area of evaluation, at professionals who work on evaluation tasks in organisations, administration or ministries and as independent or self-employed consultants.

Teaching-Learning-Format

The teaching-learning-format consists of comprehensive, scientifically sound and practice-oriented self-study materials that have been developed by experts especially for distance learning, an online campus as an interactive learning platform and on-campus phases to consolidate the knowledge that is acquired through self-study in theory and practice. Mandatory on campus phases take place in the first and third semester for one week in Saarbrücken.

Notes about fees for this course

At the moment, the tuition fees amount to EUR 1,700 per semester. In addition, a social contribution of currently EUR 135,50 is due each semester. Not included are travel and accommodation expenses or meal allowances during the on-​campus phases.

Entry requirements

The distance learning programme starts in the winter semester (October) of every year. The application phase usually opens in March of the respective year. For information on the admission requirements and the application process please visit our website.
