About Law and Management, BA, BA (Hons) - at Robert Gordon University

This course will equip you with a solid grounding in law, as well as key business skills and knowledge.

Within each year of the course you will study a range of law and management subjects, including Contract Law, Commercial Law and Consumer Law, as well as Economics, Accounting and Management. The high level of flexibility within the course allows you to mould your degree to specialise in the areas you develop an interest in.

  • Choose one option from

- Marketing

Year 3

  • Fundamentals of Employment Law or Legal Methods (Advanced Entrants Only)

  • Law of Business Associations

  • Delict

  • Ethics and the Consumer or Organisational Marketing

  • Management Studies for Law

  • Managing the Public Sector OR European Exchange in Law at a partner European Institution/US University OR an 18 week Work Placement.

Entry requirements

SQA Higher: BBCC

GCE A Level: CCC

ILC Higher: BBC1C1

IB Diploma: 26, to include Higher English at grade 5.

Alternative Qualifications

  • HNC or equivalent qualifications will be considered for year 1 entry

  • Overseas qualifications and access programmes will be considered on an individual basis

  • Applications are welcomed from students with alternative qualifications and relevant work experience


Degree Link Programme

  • HNC Legal Services qualifications from our partner FE Colleges will be considered for year 2 entry

  • HND Legal Services qualifications from one of our partner FE Colleges will be considered for year 3 entry. After successfully completing year 3, the student can transfer into year 2 of the LLB degree


Placements and accreditations

An exciting part of the course is the possibility of an 18 week paid placement in year 3. This provides you with an opportunity to perform in a professional capacity in the area of either law or management. The rewards from this are enormous, both in terms of initial professional development and in applying theoretical principles to real life situations.

Fees and bursaries

UK/EU Students

  • New students: £1820 for academic year 2010/11


If you are from Scotland or the EU you are not liable to pay fees and should apply to SAAS for funding.

Alternatively, if you are from England, Wales, or Northern Ireland you should apply to the appropriate funding body.
