History

The university was established in 1969. It is an international university providing part-time higher education to the United Kingdom, the European Union and elsewhere overseas.

Its central offices are located in Milton Keynes, 80km north-west of London.

Admission to first degree courses

Those resident in the UK/other parts of the EU/other areas where the university has agreed to register students are eligible for admission. There are no formal academic entry requirements. Students must normally be aged 18 or over.

First Degrees

BA, BA, BSc, BSc, MEng, MMaths

All courses are part-time and are assessed on a credit points rating (usually 60 or 30 points per course). Minimum requirements for a first degree are 360 credit points at specific levels. First degree master's: minimum 480 credit points. Most students study at the rate of 60 credit points a year.

Higher Degrees

Masters

Admission: Direct applicants for admission to master's degree courses should normally hold a good first degree with honours; entry to master's degrees by coursework is also possible via a relevant diploma of the university.

Master's degrees normally require 180 credit points; entrants with university diploma (certain courses): 120 points.
