Fees, Funding and Scholarships at The University of Hong Kong

Thanks to the Government’s support for the development of Hong Kong as an educational hub for students from around the world, HKU’s tuition fees are relatively low by international standard. Still The University of Hong Kong offers a range of scholarships and bursaries to ease the financial burden on students.

The University offers merit-based entrance scholarships for top-ranking students who are admitted to its undergraduate programmes. The entrance scholarships may go up to a value equivalent to a FULL tuition fee waiver plus accommodation and general living allowance per year, and are renewable to cover your entire undergraduate study at HKU. Accommodation Information for Students

HKU has 17 residential halls and residential colleges where students can experience this important part of university life, including our largest and newest addition, the four colleges of Jockey Club Student Village III. Each hall has its own history and culture, and students find that as they make new friends there and develop a sense of belonging, it becomes a home away from home. 

Study Abroad Information

The numerical and geographical spread of its partnerships is immense, with over 365 institutions across 45 destinations having chosen to partner the University of Hong Kong and offer its students the experience of studying abroad as part of annual semester-long and year-long exchanges. Exchange programmes aside, students enjoy other perks of partnership such as summer study abroad, service learning, summer research projects and other such short-term student mobility initiatives. Partner universities include those ranked among the highest in the world or at least in their respective countries.The university also developed a list of undergraduate dual degree programmes, which allow students to experience different learning environments and cultures, while pursuing two degrees at the same time.
