About Applied Economics and Policy, MAEP - at University of Windsor

The challenging global economy requires highly trained individuals who possess the knowledge and the skills in economic policy making and, participate effectively in helping decision-makers choose sound economic policies that strike a good balance between cyclical economic recovery and long-run economic growth.

This exciting course-based program provides students with graduate-level knowledge and skills related to applications of economic theory in policy-making, bridging the gap between theory and practice.

The program is comprised of four distinct parts delivered over 16 consecutive months:

six core courses;

series of specialized electives;

courses in both management and business communications; and,

policy project.

Fees are an estimation and are based on tuition for sixteen (16) months or four (4) academic terms. Does not include Incidental Fees ($2,000*), Textbooks ($2,000*), Living Expenses and Meals ($12,000*).

Entry requirements

Four-year Bachelor's degree from an accredited post-secondary institution

70+% cumulative average or 77+% average in the last 2-years of full-time studies (when converted to Ontario equivalent)

Completion of undergraduate courses in statistics, microeconomics, and macroeconomics(1)

Demonstrated English proficiency (IELTS 6.5+)(or approved equivalent)

Statement of interest (max 2 pages)

Curriculum vitae (max 2 pages)

2 Letters of Reference

(1) Applicants who do not demonstrate this requirement maybe admitted under exceptional circumstances.
