About Early Modern History, MA - at University of East Anglia (UEA)

Study

The Early Modern History pathway examines the relationships between society, culture, politics and ideology in England between c1500 and c1700. The course provides an in-depth examination of the nature of power, authority, ideology and culture in England between the Reformation and the early eighteenth century.

Structure

Unlike some MA courses that 'mix-and-match' large numbers of small modules, within each course option students take a year-long 60-credit module, allowing them really to explore their area of interest in detail.

Teaching

UEA is extremely proud of its lively research community, which includes not just MA students but PhD students and teaching staff that contribute to a collaborative and intellectually stimulating study environment.

Employability

Gain the skills and support that ensure as a graduate, you are highly employable, such as developing the ability to communicate with precision and to research, analyse and present data on complex subjects. Research skills are taught in a dedicated training programme, which provides everything the student needs to further their historical ambitions and career.

Entry requirements

Open to applicants with a good first degree (UK BA (Hons) 2:1 or equivalent) in History or a related subject. Special entry requirements include the submission of a sample of written work on a historical subject accompanying your application. Please visit UEA's website for complete details.
