About Urban Water Systems, MSc - at University of Exeter

Drawing on the expertise of the Centre for Water Systems, this Masters provides knowledge and key skills in the broad area of urban water engineering and management. Water supply, sanitation and drainage are fundamental to the economic and social development of all urban communities. Reliable, sustainable and affordable water management systems form the key to enhancing the quality of life of billions of people throughout the world. Poor water supply, drainage and sanitation lead to ill-health, low economic growth and a polluted environment.

Modules cover the essential aspects of clean water supply (supply, treatment and distribution) and wastewater disposal (sewerage, treatment and flooding), providing an understanding of how these systems work, and tools for simulating their performance. You will carry out a major project on an industrially relevant topic, supervised by Centre for Water Systems staff.

This programme will appeal to engineering graduates who wish to enhance their capabilities in urban water design, operation and management, and to engineers working in the water industry who are looking to acquire knowledge, skills and a formal qualification in this area. The programme will open up a wide range of employment opportunities and can act as a foundation for further research in the areas of urban water management and water systems.

If you wish to develop your knowledge, skills and employment prospects in this increasingly important sector of the world economy, then this could be the programme for you!

Entry requirements All applications are considered individually on merit. A first degree in an engineering or science subject with at least Second Class Honours or its equivalent is normally required.
