About Bachelor of Social Science (Honours), BSocSc (Hons) - at University of Newcastle, Australia

Students who perform well, with a GPA of 5.0 or greater, during the Bachelor of Social Science program or equivalent program and/or relevant discipline major, may undertake a further year of full-time (or equivalent part-time) study to obtain an Honours degree. The Honours program allows students to further develop their specific areas of interest.

Entry requirements

An applicant for admission to candidature must have completed a Bachelor of Social Science or equivalent program with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 5.0 (credit grade average).
Students seeking admission to the Bachelor of Social Science (Honours) in Psychology Studies must have completed the Psychology Studies Major in the Bachelor of Social Science at the University of Newcastle; plus STAT2000 and PSYC3000.
