We have designed the course that delivers an intensive and applied skills-base to enable students to pursue employment in a variety of areas.
This course is suitable to those who have an interest in the imaging area and will provide the necessary professional skills for completive application to industrial and media production. The course allows a skills update for people already in the photographic and imaging fields and training in new skills in an area where technological advances require constant updating.
We aim to give students a broad learning base to cover all aspects of biological imaging. All students will be expected to complete the six core modules and undertake a work-study project. You the student will be able to compete in a very competitive field having gained a good hands-on skills training in the following areas: Video production, Digital and conventional imaging, Business and marketing application, Microscopy and image analysis, Image manipulation and multi-media, Techniques in the field (this is a field based application using different camera systems).
STRUCTURE:
The MSc course lasts for 12 months and starts in September each year. Delivery of module will be determined by content but it is anticipated that at least 50% of the student’s time will be practically based in the studio or field environment.
Most teaching will occur during the autumn and spring semesters with the project occurring during the summer. Students are required to complete six compulsory elements and Masters student are also required to undertake a study project (60 credits) on a topic relevant to Biological Photography and Imaging as agreed by the Course Director.
