Founded in 1909, the University of Queensland offers almost 400 degree programmes across undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and operates more than 100 specialised research institutes in various disciplines. These include the Translational Research Institute, the Pharmacy Australia Centre of Excellence (PACE) as well as a marine research station on Stradbroke Islands.

The University of Queensland places great importance on developing relationships with local communities and has conducted multiple research projects aimed at improving living standards in poor regions worldwide. The University of Queensland operates three campuses in addition to over 40 research & teaching spaces, with its primary campus located in the St. Lucia neighbourhood of Queensland.
