Gender Studies Degrees in the UK

Study Gender Studies Degrees

Gender studies as an academic field looks at gender identity and the representation of different genders. Historically, gender studies has been referred to as women's studies and encompassed topics such as feminism and politics. But over the years, the field has evolved to overlap with other areas, like queer studies and men's studies, and is now inclusive of more people and genders.

There are several career paths associated with a degree in gender studies. These include psychology, healthcare, human resources and public and private sector work, among others.

Your degree will be delivered through a mixture of modes. These could include lectures, seminars and group projects. Modules you study might include:

  • Religion and gender
  • Gender and sexuality
  • Feminism
  • Gender identity
