If you are interested in the study of living things, such as biology, botany or zoology, then you are interested in life sciences. A degree in life sciences will give you a foundation in these broader life sciences, also including biochemistry, anatomy and physiology and ecology. You will be able to fine tune your interests and choose to focus on specialist subjects during your degree.
Graduates of Life Sciences degrees will develop strong analytical skills as well as critical thinking skills, which can lead to career paths in the healthcare sector, working in the pharmaceutical industry, teaching, conservation and animal welfare.
Your degree will be delivered in a mixture of modes, including lectures, tutorials, seminars and group projects. Depending on your course, you may also have the option to take part in a work placement. Modules you study could include:
