Study Social Sciences Degrees

Social sciences as an academic discipline looks at the study of society and human behaviour. This also includes how people interact with each other and the world around them, and how this effects the way in which society develops, and how this influences the world. There are several subject areas within social sciences, these include things such as anthropology, economics, linguistics, politics and psychology, among others.

Graduates of a degree in social sciences will have a wide range of career paths available to them. These include social worker, human resource manager, political researcher, journalist, and counsellor, among others.

Your degree will be delivered through a mixture of modes. These will include lectures and seminars, as well as possible group projects. Depending on your course, you may also have the opportunity to take part in a work placement. Modules you study could include:

  • Modern Society
  • Social Problems and Social Change
  • Human Rights
  • Sociology of Death
  • Humanitarianism
