Masters in Commercial Law in the UK

Study Commercial Law Masters Programmes

Commercial law is concerned with the rules that govern international and regional trade, the protection of commercial interests and will give you an understanding of how businesses operate within legal frameworks. You will learn about corporate governance and how decisions are made at a corporate level.

To study Commercial law at university level, you should have a strong interest in legal framework and have a strong interest in commerce.

By studying in this field, your modules are likely to cover topics such as:

  • International Corporate Governance
  • Business Negotiation
  • Intellectual Property
  • International Trade Law
  • Corporate Law

Graduates of degrees in Commercial Law go on to work in a variety of fields across commercial law, commerce, finance and business.

Postgraduate programmes in Commercial Law are most commonly offered at universities as:

  • Master of Law (LLM degree), which can typically take between 1-2 years to complete, depending on whether you wish to study Full-time or Part-time.
  • Postgraduate Diplome (PG Dip), which will typically take 1 year to complete when studied Full-Time.
